The last ECNL game for U18 srs from Mauldin, Byrnes, Spartanburg, JL Mann, Clover, Eastside, Dreher, Nation Ford, Dutch Fork, Woodruff, Christ Church, St. Josephs (1A to 4A) etc. will be at Mesa in Greenville this Saturday at 1pm. The U15, u16, and u17s are also playing either at 1 or 3pm. Should at least be some decent high school age girls soccer. No plane trips required to watch. I would guess between the 4 age groups, most of the high schools in SC are represented.

Scwame, what does this have to do with missing Viking Cup players? And should you not have posted this under the Club category, not High School?

Oh I get it, we can go out to Mesa and see all the players that will not be at Viking Cup.

Boots, I don't think that's correct. I think we're only missing 4. I could be wrong.

Just curious if thread was about the merits of playing for your High School team vs club or if if was a prearranged excuse for performance in the Viking Cup. Wando is going to roll no matter who is playing ECNL or not.

There are definite merits to playing for your HS team and Wando will do great, but for schools with a population of 1300 as opposed to Wando enrolling over 3000, the odds that you are going to have the same number of caliber players after cuts- if you even have cuts are not the same. In other words- 5 key players missing from Wando won't phase them as their bench is always deep- same for Mauldin and many other larger schools, BUT 4 to 5 players from some other teams missing V Cup will have a huge effect on their standings. No excuses, just facts. Either way, it will be a good tournament!

We are not looking forward to playing Wando with 1/3 of our team in Texas so yea you will roll. Congrats. Takes the fun out of the tournament when you are not fully stocked. Frustrating for the coach too.

Mauldin will be bringing our "casual" squad.

Break the tournament into two leagues. ECNL and non ECNL teams. Or casual and non-casual
