Does anyone know what the cut-off numbers are for moving from 3A to 4A, 2A to 3A, and 1A to 2A? The best I can tell, it looks like 1480 (JL Mann 1486 - 4A / Hartsville 1477 - 3A) to go to 4A, 945 (Lake Marion 948 - 3A / Swansea 943 - 2A) to go to 3A, and do not know the 1A schools well enough to determine the break point for 1A to 2A.

If this is the case, some awful big ranges 3229 to 1486 for 4A and 1477 to 945 for 3A.

Mann went from the largest 3A to smallest 4A. They take top 48 schools in numbers to make 4A. Technically Mann would have stayed 3A but we have a special needs program at Mann with 40+ students which some would argue should not count towards the enrollment but thats a touchy subject. They are wonderful kids who will not be able to participate in sports at a high school level. But kids all look forward to playing at a higher level and challenging themselves. There are plans to increase enrollment by another 500 so it doesn't matter.

Changing district boundaries......or passing out fertility drugs to the local community?

The S.C. High School League used these 135-day enrollment figures for the 2010-12 Realignment.

I don't know. It was in the paper where they were approved for an addition as well as making the old Mann a new middle school all by 2014. Build it and they will come I guess

Mann is an Academy, so any student from Greenville County can apply.

It's not an enrollment number cutoff. They take the largest 48 schools in AAAA, the next 48 in AAA, and so on. In the 2010-2012 realignment, the break points were JL Mann AAAA - York AAA, Lake Marion AAA - Swansea AA, Academic Magnet AA - Burke A.

I knew the experts who read and post would provide accurate data if mine was not correct, and it was not.

Glad to see there are some folks out there focusing on something other than Clowney.
