I think every coach would tell you that they have been up a goal and every chance they got would sub the outside mid that is on the opposite side of the field.
I like the idea of changing the offsides rule but within reason. You don't want a player to just be able to stand by the goal keeper the entire game. Making it a line, like hockey would make the game interesting to see what it did to the spacing on the rest of the field.



Yeah...but you would still see one lone mark on that forward near the box. In hockey, you can't get the separation that you can in soccer with the speed and size of the playing area. There could be gaping holes and so much for keeping a defense compact on the attack.
