yellow cards are not reported to SCHSL and if a player is red carded by a official with SCHSL it should be reported.

How about the refs just enforce the rules that are already in place. For instance:
Embellishment - how many times does a player get fouled but then jump in the air, scream and roll around in pain just to get up and sprint away. The embellishment rule in HS was supposed to fix that with a yellow card.

Here is another idea.

A second yellow/red is an automatic one game suspension and the team must play down a man. Why can a player get 2 yellows for horrible tackle and not get suspended (and their team doesn't play shorthanded), but if you kick the ground and let out a cuss word it is a straight red and 2 games???? Bad tackles are more of an issue than cussing.

As a matter of fact, an official with the SCHSL told our coach that 2 yellows are the same as any red; which is an automatic 2-game suspension, no matter what the red is for - violent conduct or no.

The way referees throw around yellow cards these days, I am glad they don't keep track.
I put a player in the game last night 10 minutes into the second half. The score at the time was 5-0. The player was in the game for maybe a minute and got a yellow card. I asked the ref for an explanation and he told me it was for "persistent infringement" against the team. I have never heard of such a thing.
Later on in the second half the other team switched goalkeeper. I am not sure if they put a player on and were playing with 12 or did it with the ref not looking but anyway the ref showed the goalkeeper a yellow card. The opposing coach yelled and said it was his fault. The ref agreed and said "How about his...where's the captain?" and he showed the captain the yellow card....
I am not bashing the ref because we have had him before and he has done a great job. I am just backing up my point that I am glad they don't count yellow cards for any sort of suspension.
I tell my players all the time to quit watching You Tube and do the simple things well...refs watch too much tv and see refs throw around yellow cards.

Referees are people.
The majority of people are idiots.

The card should have gone to the player who last entered the game (Goalie).

My observation has been that the refs do not throw around cards until it is too late. In high school refs appear hesitant to show that first card of the game. A card can control a game if timed accordingly. However, I have seen refs not issue an early card and the games intensity increases to the point that the players start playing more physical. The ref then has no choice but to start showing the cards. If he had taken an early stand the physicality may not have increased to that point. Soccer is an emotional game.

Maybe we should just be able to use our hands to take the ball down the field too. That makes just as much sense...we should also just remove the referees and discard all 17 Laws of the game that were written for a reason. Great idea.

Sad truth is: Common sense isn't common at all.
