Both cards seemed warranted according to the rule book. PI against a team is in the book so a team doesnt rough up one player using different kids. Coaches often put in a sub to do that. Not saying thats what happened but thats what the ref must have thought. As for the 12 man on the team it is an automatic card if a player enters the field without permission. Ref has no choice on that one according to the rules. However it does sound like a mistake was made in determining who should get the card.
