Have a few questions about reporting Varsity scores. Is Eurosport the official reporting site for the SCSHSL?

If so, what is the guideline for how long a team has to post a score?

And, how do the rankings work. Is the strength of a team considered. Say you play a team from out of state who is ranked nationally and you loose to them, but other teams in your region never play an out of state team, and all their non-region games are against weaker teams. Does that play in to the rankings.

And last question -

Is it beneficial for a team NOT to post a loss today so that it won't get figured into the rankings for next week.

Thanks.

Cause these rankings are part of the BCS calculations for the State Finals?

Actually I guess for 1A and 2A they might matter?

I mean really. The rankings has nothing to do with anything. Entertainment purposes only.

No. The regions report their teams' records and playoff qualifications (seedings) to the SCHSL by a specified deadline in May. It's May 6 this year.

Are you sure the BCS does not use them cause I do not think anyone really knows all the factors that go into BCS.

Yes as for what SC soccer does with them well they just cause posts and that is the real entertainment!

In response to the BCS using them, well, they need all the help they can get.

I did not realize they were not used for anything. Someone told me they played into how the playoffs were seeded for home field advantage. To be honest, I thought that was a little crazy. That was why I posted here so I could find out what the deal was.

So the same goes the Eurosports stuff - it is just a central location for everyone to report their scores, but is not mandatory by the HS league?

Thanks.

I think it is a good tool that helps us see how the teams around the state are doing; that is for the ones that enter their schedules and scores. It's a shame that so many do not choose to participate.
