Also, preventing an obvious goal scoring opportunity which happens an average of 2-4 times per match is quite different from preventing a lay up opportunity that occurs 20-40 times in a basketball game. Ie, fouling to prevent an obvious goalscoring opportunity in soccer is more equivalent to preventing 10 basketball layups!
