 Embezzlement Issue
Safeguards: Countersignature over amounts of $1,000? Dual signage of checks? Electronic payments? Tansparency in the organization? Financial statements available? Can the treasurer write checks to themselves? People who embezzle are those that have been trusted over time and generally start small and escalate to larger sums. Do you get an audit? Breakout sessions 3 groups of club presidents discussing issues
Interesting topics, including:
1. How can we engage recreation players across the state?
2. District Leagues: Classic II; Academy; Recreation
3. Statewide Leagues: When and how should we run the leagues?
4. Club pass: How should we handle the club pass? How many players should receive a club pass within a team?
5. Promotion/Relegation for competitive teams

Some talk of classic league clubs having to field a recreational program or have standing agreement with an existing recreational league.

Plea from Sam Okpodu for more officials. Each club should provide at least 3 qualified officials.

SCYSA should recognize these great athletes. Things have certainly changed with SCYSA. Players needed finanacial help for ODP and $9,000 was left? I am making an observation that it is not about the kids.
Unfortunatley, the truly great players from SC are respected everywhere, but, in their home state

and the ODP report? I wish I knew how to start a thread!
There is much to be discussed starting with the $55 try-out fee. It used to be $25-$30. T-shirts are not that much. Try-outs if you have seen them are just random scrimmages. Charge $20, use returnable numbered pinnies. With that $9000 surplus / profit there is certainly room to make this one time purchase and thus keep the cost down for years to come!
They really don't want the best players. They only want them if they are playing for the right club.
$150 for training? Don't get me started.
PAYING $5 FOR EACH CLUB PLAYER BACK TO THE CLUB???
My fear with more club control has certainly come true with this. It is a business that is quickly losing site of the patrons they serve.
Trying to model the NC system is a quite a goal...
Good luck with this!
If your daughter plays ECNL and / or your son plays Academy there is no need to do ODP. Until this year, I was an advocate for ODP. The truth is, the best players from states that have ECNL and Academy are not doing ODP. So, the goal of the best playing the best as listed in the minutes is moot.

The only year it would be worthwhile is the year they pick for National Pool. That is the year you can see how far they can go. For the upcoming year I believe it would be 1998 girls and 1999 boys. Everyone else, think twice before you pay. You can tell from the training (haha) sessions who the coaches are pushing...

9000 surplus and i know some parents that asked for help with Bama camp and didnt get it or got very little. why?
All the talk when the new group took over was keeping cost down. Looks like that purpose changed.
Giving money back to the clubs? You have got to be kidding me.The clubs or the Club took over ODP and it looks like they are going to pay themselves for it.
You couldnt get all the best players out there to start with because of the cost. Now you raise them.
I agree that there should be more training and you should pay for it but you should get what you pay for.
The 9000 surplus and parents who really needed help not getting it just doesnt sit right.

I think i read this wrong? I thought Clubs got $5 per player from their club.
It's says ODP refunds $5 per player to the host club. So whoever host the tryouts(i assume it will be the same as every other year)gets 5 bucks for each kid? Is this for the field use or is it extra?
