Most championship coaches cite chapter and verse on how their teams -- or individuals within the team -- overachieved. Winning a championship is, almost by definition, over-achievement.
There are plenty of clues out there. Feel free to grab one.

I don't think there is anything over-achieving about any 2A state title BE has won...

Or Irmo throughout the 90s and 2000s

Or Northwestern throughout Enzo's tenure

Or S. Aiken in 05

Or Christ Church

So no, to answer your question, championships are not the result of overachievement...and on what planet does every coach quote scripture? What world do you reside in?

Chapter and verse = metaphor.
The point is, what YOU think is routine FROM THE OUTSIDE is NOT. Do you think Irmo's next state title will be routine? Why? Because they've won so many in recent years?
Each title is different. Different players. Different paths. Different feelings. To state otherwise devalues the achievement.
Ask any coach here. There are several regular posters who have won state titles. Do you think they take the next one for granted? No. Precisely because, the moment you do, you get knocked off the perch.
Like I said, grab a clue. It might help.
