The hysteria and melodrama surrounding this amazes me.

Folks......this is America. We're an awesome country because we have choices. If you love high school soccer so much and see all of the intrinsic value in it.....don't have your son play Academy!!!! Its thats simple.

For kids who want to go 10 months at the highest level...then do it. Understanding that there are sacrifices to make. Not all of it is HS soccer related. Weekend long bus trips to Florida or Virginia that take you away from activities that your friends take for granted. Not being able to go to a party some Friday/Saturday night becasue you have a game the next day.

Choice and its accompanying sacrifices are a part of life.

If a kid freely chooses to play Academy, then don't whine about not playing high school or missed parties.

If a kid doesn't want to give up high school soccer or a more free social life, fine. Don't. But don't whine about Academy and try to dumb down everyone else who has different priorities and makes different choices.

Its a free country. Choose what you want and quit trying to force everyone to conform to your choices.
