SCUMP 93 Girls families were sent an email by their coach on June 4th telling them that they were awarded the U19 wild card, and asked players that would be interested in playing to let him know by that night. We had heard right after the State Championships in December that we might be eligible, but never a word between then. So yes... it was turned down because there were not enough players at the last minute to spend a possible 8 days up in Greenville. If we had known sooner, then players (graduated Seniors) may have put this in their plans, but being let know basically 2 weeks ahead most already had commitments....North/South All-Star game, beach, College orientations, Summer jobs.... I am not sure who dropped the ball on that, but I am glad that some South Carolina team was able to pick up the spot, and hope they are able to do well with the opportunity.
