Gibbons strikes again as she intercepts a goal kick just outside the top of the 18 and fires it past Killian. 2-0 to the Tar Heels!

Wow! The Sandlappers pull one back on a beautiful pass from Chelsea Drennan to Faith Lifer less than one minute after the two goal deficit. North Carolina leads on shot 5-3 and on the scoreboard, 2-1.

The Tar Heels restore their two goal advantage as Gibbons sets up Kendall Fischlein with a perfectly weighted cross and Fischlein heads it in the net. 3-1 for North Carolina with a half-hour to play.

Safe to say that the Referee Kevin Roberts has struggled in the middle today. Bizarre at times!

South Carolina will not go away as Megan Robertson fires home a pass from Kaleigh Kurtz to slice the deficit at 3-2 on 72'. The rain has been a factor since the end of the first half but looks to be clearing now.
