In the November 11 NCAA RPIs, the Gamecocks are rated #14 while the Southern Conference Champion Paladins are rated #65.
Neither here nor there, but the Nov. 11 NCAA RPI's are actually USC #13 and Furman #46. Still a big difference, but no need to make it a bigger gap than really is.
After getting a chance to watch the two teams head-to-head, the biggest difference I noticed was the pace at which Carolina plays compared to Furman. It really shows the difference in a national (or international, Canada) recruiting program versus one that is largely regional.
Congratulations to the Paladins on a super year and good luck to the Gamecocks in California.
