Agreed, will be a challenge and you are a devil shocked .

Certainly agree with your math around benefits of hosting tournaments. We do not want to deny these anywhere. And I think it would be a thin argument to defend 'status quo' on 'its easier to manage tournaments because we only deal with one entity'. There are a host of other municipalities that perform quite well with an even, balanced approach to field rentals (precedent supplied in droves). When any of our other landlords have something going on, they tell us, and we keep the fields clear - easy.

'Politics' will certainly apply here with decisions to provide a different approach. Your money point reminds me of our annual debate at the HOA (homeowners assoc) around rental fees for our club house.
Half our community says raise the rental fees for weddings, events, etc. and make more revenue, half says, screw that, these are our facilities and we should gain access at low cost since we pay for them everyday. Both have valid points and typically our rents go up and down like the ebb and flow of the Atlantic tide depending on the (individual) will of our board.

At this point, will be interesting to see what district courts say in regard to this, and I agree with you again on how thin our juicy topics have become on this board. Perhaps time to stir it up.

Certainly 2016/17 US Youth Soccer changes and State DOC meeting in February should supply a host of material on our Club thread.

The HOA example is all too familiar; everybody wants things, but few want to pay the cost of having them. Reminds me of the old saying, "Everybody wants to go to Heaven...but nobody wants to die!"

Yep, can't wait for February--I'll be there! We've had a storm of speculation accompanied by no small dose of anxiety from our coaches; it will be good to get the facts straight from the source.

In the meantime, a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all, and here's looking forward to what 2016 will bring!

I've got good news and bad news...
