United Soccer Coaches Commends Landmark Move to Modernize Intercollegiate Soccer
United Soccer Coaches applauds the NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer Oversight Committee for its decision to adopt legislation aimed at modernizing intercollegiate soccer. This significant step reflects the collective efforts of Division I men’s coaches, student-athletes, administrators, staff representatives, and the ongoing support of U.S. Soccer.
The proposed legislation restructures the current fall competition model into a two-semester format, with competition culminating in a spring NCAA College Cup. Implementation is targeted for the 2027 season, with final approval scheduled to be considered by the NCAA Division I Cabinet during its June 22–23 meetings.
United Soccer Coaches extends its congratulations to the coaches and administrators whose years of dedication and advocacy have led to this pivotal advancement for Division I men’s intercollegiate soccer in the United States.
