As a reminder to all coaches competing in the HS state championships this weekend at Stone Stadium, I would like to say that you are expected to represent your school, community and sport in a positive manner. There were too many instances during the Friday matches where coaches vented on the SCHSSCA's VOLUNTEER staff. Just so you will know, the SCHSSCA volunteers are NOT referees. We do not select the referees. And, we do not evaluate the referees. Nor do we donate our time so that competing coaches can yell at us. Competing coaches should be reminded that it is a blessing to be playing at this point, while the rest of us are watching. There are numerous coaches who owe the SCHSSCA Volunteers an apology. Some of their actions last night, were way out of line. The saddest thing is it seems that the coaches that have won the most titles in recent years are the worst offenders. You should know how to act in pressure situations. Character first, please.
