I'm kind of surprised by this.. Was there a corportate sponsor when North/South started in 89'? I'm sure it hasn't always been the huge event it is now.. I would think that SOMETHING..is better than nothing at all. As for the other awards players receive.. All-state and North-South are the lists that (i think many would agree with me) people really look at. And often..if someone isn't named to one list (because there may be a bunch of outstanding players in that position) they are named to the other..
Maybe it's because there hasn't really been much said about this whole thing..but I just don't see what's so hard about having a match. Forget t-shirts and medals.. ..i think just having your name on the list..and playing in the match is all that really matters..
