And for Soccerboy. I think it depends on the type of talent as to what kind of game you play on the field. And your correct, although I wasn't around, the previous NW teams were bigger and more defensive as you could view from the difference in score from this years teams versus last.
So maybe the past two years they, for what you call, packed it in, but they did not have the speed or the scoring ability they have now and they were all seniors versus what this team is now so there was a maturity factor also.

As far as "promoting" a slow game? They have 80+ goals promoting a slow game? Doubt it....

2 years ago in the state championship game, Northwestern did "pack it in" vs Irmo. A great game plan that took a very strong Irmo team to pk's.
Last year anyone who saw the game would not be able to say that Northwestern "packed it in". The shot total for the game was 22 Irmo - 21 Northwestern. The game was very even that led to 2-1 2OT game.
This year, I haven't seen much "packing it in" vs any opponent strong or weak. What I have witnessed is a team with a very good game plan vs each opponent with pretty good execution. So to me it doesn't matter "pack it in" or "run it up", I say "Just Win."

I just think there are many folks on this site that are too tunnel visioned or don't see the whole picture.

Besides, you need to get through the Mosquitoes at mid field before the defense has to work.

the point people seem to be trying to get across to you arroyo is that yall pack it in against good team... we dont need your stats against the sorry ones... but yall seem to be doing ok ..for now... good luck this weekend in your tournament... i predict eastside over whoever in the finals as long as they have everyone...

Did we sit back and pack it in against Irmo this year? Doubt it.... We stretched the field and bated the fullbacks with Arroyo up top.

Did we pack it in against FM? 16 to 4 shot ratio states NOT!

Of course I'm talking to kids that have no real future in soccer so I will leave this post with that...
