Does anyone know how rankings are done? Trying to figure out how Riverside & Seneca can be ranked above chapin, flora, dreher, & airport? seems a little odd.

Well all I gotta say is it's about time our Warriors got some respect up here! Just looking at the schedules and Riverside has had a bunch of postponements. Seneca's only loss is to Daniel. Dreher and Flora have been in poor form lately and sliding fast. Chapin looks to have rebounded, but still has 9 losses. Airport's only good win was against Chapin and the rest have been against a bunch of nobody's. It's going to come down to Eastside, Greenville, Mann or Riverside!

It seems obvious the rankings are in order. A 9 loss team ranked any higher? Come on now kid...

Hmmm, 9 losses. If you look at who most of those 9 losses are from you will find that 7 of the 9 are from ranked 4A teams, 3 from Irmo alone. Chapin is a 3A team, you would expect this. We shall find out how good they are come playoffs, and with the schedule they have, they will be well prepared!

There is harldy, if any, difference between 3A and 4A teams. Many of the 3A teams are better than the 4A ones. Eastside is arguably the best team in the state and they are 3A.
Yes, Chapin might be better than their record, but 9 losses is still 9 losses.

Yes, Chapin is well tested.
I disagree with the statement "Many of the AAA teams are better than the AAAA" ones. Perhaps we can line up the top 15 of both and compare. I feel confident that while AAA is highly competitive and sports some quality teams, I do not feel their overall talent as well as level is that of AAAA. There are, I will add, a few exceptions.

Well maybe we are playing with terminology here, but the better 3A teams like Greenville, Eastisde, Mann and others can beat most any team in the state. Just because a team is 4A that does not make them good. Too much emphasis is placed upon 1 2 3 or 4A. Greenville or Mann would go through the vast majority of 4A teams in the state. Eastside could go through everyone. It's about geographic distribution of talent, not school size.
Don't confuse the word "many" with "most". When I say many I mean that there are several 3A schools that would beat the vast majority of schools in the state.

CornerFlag.. have you seen Eastside? I know they're stacked with CESA talent..but I just don't see this "they're friggin' invincible" in their results so far. I'm not saying it won't happen..because I haven't seen them play yet.
But from what I CAN see.. I'm not convinced.. I'm not saying they won't take the upperstate..but.. they don't really play anyone.. and aside from a 1-0 win over a struggling Riverside..and a 4-0 win over a Tomek-less Christ Church..what have they shown in the past month that says they'll just dominate all these schools that have been battling all season. I don't think Greenville and Mann should just be written off..because Eastside has the holier than thou CESA boys..
As for the rankings 8 through 14.. I'm not really sure what's going on there.. what have Daniel, Seneca, and Riverside really shown?..ESPECIALLY Daniel and Seneca..
As usual..rankings don't mean jackcrap..but I think you can make an argument for strength of schedule here..and ultimately..despite the rankings..I think the Lowerstate will be better for it in the end.
Should be an interesting postseason for sure..
On a side note: This is my 711th post.. I'm going to go get a slushy. Later.
