Maybe non-region, but not region. In the liberal custom of being fair, that would be the only way to keep people's feelings from being hurt. Again, I like the rankings where they are.

Cornerflag, I just don't see Eastside being the best team in the state. Irmo has already beat them, giving 4A the edge over 3A teams. If you believe that SA and NW are better than Irmo, then they have to be better than Eastside. 3A is a step below 4A, at least the top 10 teams or so. I would take NW, SA and Irmo all over Eastside, hands down. I'm not saying Eastside doesn't have a good team, because they do. I just fail to see your justification to say that the top 3A teams are better than the top 4A teams. With Eastside having lost to the #3 4A team, I would have to give the edge to 4A without much thought.

the top 3a teams aren't better than the top 4a teams, but the difference is small enough that a top 3a team could come on top in a game against a top 4a team on any given day.

For THIS year you are correct......But in the past five years or so AAA has been just as good IF not better than AAAA. Those teams for MB, Riverside, BC, and Greenville(Daniel) could have been the top team overall over the likes of Irmo,Dorman, Ridge View(they were the best team in 2001) etc.....As for this year....SA has been most impressive to me...I have not had a chance to see NW up close but look forward to doing that.....I just can't see how anyone can stop Jamal when he's on.....And I think their biggest edge is Gulick and Goose.....they don't really give up goals.

I think the stipulation in this instance..is that Eastside was missing four or so of their top guys at a tourney in Florida or something..and still came away 1-0 against an Irmo that was still #1 and yet to lose to NW.
I'd also say that Eastside schedule prevents us from gauging how they would fair against other teams in the state.. maybe if they meet NW in the Rock Hill tourney..we will know a little more.
3A and 4A I would not say the either classification is better.. the top 10 in each are pretty even in my mind..and there are CERTAINLY a bunch of bad teams in both.
Let's not forget schools like BE, Chapin (who is just now 3A), Emerald, and Christ Church..that play with the big boys (and beat them)..i'm not really sure what the point is in arguing about which classification is better..? It's a generalization that's only purpose is to be proven wrong..ya know?

www.gobacktothegirls.com,Mad cow I doubt it.....Ridge View NEVER won a championship nor did BC or MB......BUT in 2001 RV and BC tied 1-1 at the Palmetto Cup....Durnig the years I mentioned YES they very well could have beaten those teams.......if I recall right Riverside beat Dorman at the Wando tourney as well. Also the year MB had Steven Bush(sp)(scored 85 goals in a SEASON) they could have been the best team in SC(2000) I would like to hear your logic.......

Don't forget Spring Valley on that list. They've been ranked all year and played 3, 3A schools I beleive. A loss to Flora and wins over Dreher and Chapin. Maybe they've played more but I'm not sure.

I've been wondering this for a while.. but.. are the results from years past stored anywhere? When I do a google search..I can still get the results from 04' ..but not any years before.
Are those results saved in a database anywhere? I'm sure that takes up a ton of space..so I wouldn't be shocked if they weren't.
Just curious.
