I think this has to be the dumbest topic ever. What does it matter what language they speak? Who cares what they are saying i mean if you are the better team you should win anyways. What a dumb topic.

L-E Dude is right, you do not hear any refs complaining about the foreign language. Frankly, a remarkable number of them have been exposed to the spanish language and none need to know what was said to caution or send off a player.

What better way to end a pointless topic..than with corroboration that I am right?

COMING TO 2006 SC SOCCER.... New league regulations require referees to yellow-card any player speaking any language other than American English.

Yea, it should be banned from the field. Its not more of "having an edge" rather than "being able to get away with profanity, and poor sportsmanship."

I've seen some of our players get thrown out of a game (and the next 2 because it was a red card) because he cussed at one of his own teammates and ref overheard...And I've also seen the refs not even GLANCE at a guy that cussed AT the ref.
