Greenville Senior High School has received the NSCAA Team Academic Award. Congratulations are in order for them as well as all of the other recipients from South Carolina.

Kudos to all players, teachers, coaches involved in achieving this success. Do you know in what form the award will be given to the teams? Will there be a certificate sent to the school or handed to the coach in Philadelphia, or ...?

The NSCAA Team Academic Awards are 11x13 certificates that have already been sent to the receiving schools.

The latest issue of Newsweek, identifies Academic Magnet as the #10 school in the country for their "top schools that help regular kids succeed in college" (no wonder they are on the top of the NSCAA List for SC). Southside is the only other school in the top 100 from SC.

Note: GSSM was not ranked in the Newsweek article because "NEWSWEEK excluded these high performers from the list of Best High Schools because so many of their students score well above average on the SAT and ACT." - their words not mine. If we could only finish as well as we test!

AM must have a strong program to be listed in the Newsweek article but the reason their soccer teams were ranked on top of the above NSCAA-list is because that list was in alphabetical order.
The GPA of their soccer teams ranks them #8 (boys) and #3 (girls) in SC. Truly on top of the NSCAA list in SC are Dorman's boys (4.02 GPA) and Shannon Forest Christian Girls (4.05 GPA).

It must not get any better than the Shannon Forest girls - great coach, great players, great team, and great academics. CONGRATULATIONS!!

I like SFC......but I love FSC (can't live without it!!!).

How come GSSM isn't recognized??? I'm quite sure they would be high on the list if not on top. I mean, aren't they about the same as a Magnet school?
