Another difference is subbing by both teams allowed on a corner in HS, and not allowed at all in club.

OK general question...

Rules are placed in sports so that both teams play under the same conditions and therefore the better/luckier team can claim a victory based solely on the play.

Additionally rules are in place to create/foment better games.

Therefore when a governing body creates a set of rules it must believe that they are doing so for the betterment of the game.

Can someone please explain to me why a double yellow/soft red will make the game better? Or any of the other rules for that matter?

I do not understand the arm-chest protection for females for chest traps (in walls I see no issue) no female player in the higher levels does this.
There is a governing body that already created a set of rules for youth games why not follow them?

On Friday in the Lakewood V Sumter game the officials played 2 10 minute over time periods instead of 2 5 minute over time periods. Sumter scored in the first period, but Lakewood equalised with seconds left in the second 10 minute period. Lakewood went on to win the PK shootout. This mistake cost Sumter the game.
This type of thing the officials should get right.

Yes, a mistake. But both teams played equal amount of time. Had Lakewood known they only had five minutes to score their equalizer, they would surely have scored within that time frame to send it to PKs. Sumter lost the game because they did not prevail in PKs.

I talked with the linesman from the Wade Hampton game where the double yellow controversy started. He admitted that he misinterpreted the rule regarding red cards for taunting (which was a technical red last year but a straight red this year).
