OK, this is rediculous. In yesterdays match (Wando vs BE JV), the halves were 35 minutes and the game ended in a 2-2 tie (the game was announced OVER). The coaches conferenced w/ the officials at the center circle and it was decided that two 5 minute OT periods would be played. Still 2-2 at the end, the game was announced over. Another conference proceeded and it was determined that they would do PKs. Earlier in the week Wando JV played Summerville JV, halves were 30 minutes in duration. On the subject of Match Duration, including JV Games, this is what I've found:

7-1-1: Limits the length of a game to two equal halves of 40 minutes each or, if requested and approved by the state high school association, four (4) equal quarters of 20 minutes each.

My Conclusion: During regular season, V & JV Games are supposed to be 40 minute halves, two full five minute overtime periods. If a tie still exists, penalty kicks will determine the winner.
