I'm against PKs in the regular season. Sure, you have to have a winner in the playoffs and the current format is preferable with the two 10 minute overtime periods, followed by two 5 minutes golden-goal periods, and finally penalty kicks.
However, in the regular season ties should be a part of the game. As for region standings, which determine the playoff seedings for Class 3A/4A, using the point system of 3 points for a win and 1 point for a tie would suffice. For tie-breakers use what the rest of the world does -- aggregate goals and away goals. If it is still tied after that, then simply have a playoff game for that seeding at a neutral region site.
How many coaches would like to see the SCHSSCA pursue change to our current PK policy? Please state reasons pro/con.
