As Coach Jackson mentioned above, the Region VII, 4-A tie break would still work as a means of breaking a tie if used statewide, without using goals for/against or goal differentials. How do other regions resolve ties for the purposes of seeding for playoffs?
Here, again are the Region VII, 4-A tie breaking procedures:
1.) Winner of head to head matches
2.) Points winner for beating other teams in region
3.) Best regular season record not counting tournaments
4.) Best regular season record including tournament games
5.) A coin toss.
This is across the board for all sports.
Furthermore, if tied at the end of regulation I vote for two 10 minute overtimes without golden goal. If there have been goals then 20 minutes will likely produce more, and if it has been 0-0 then perhaps exhaustion will produce a goal.
