I have had run ins with the same problem with shin guards. Taller people are at a disadvantage when it comes to guard checks. If you use slide-in guards and you have a huge space beneath your guard they will make you change. Ive seen several members of a team have the same slide-ins and only the tall guys get flagged because of it.
