I have been holding off on making any comment about the Nort South Selection.
Just some general observation:
1. Are good people left off? yes we could give lots of reasons, but we will be still be beating a dead horse.
2. Is it political? The selection committe is comprised from people around the state, we have to trust their good judgement and professional standards.
I am by no means a perfect person, but I like to think my intregity speaks for itself. But to anwser the question, people are people.
3. No matter what type of selection process, or team(All Region, All State etc) someone is not going to make it, no matter how objective one trys to be.
4. Be involved in the coaches association, post stats of your players, talk to other coaches on other teams who may have good players. (and I am not talking about running up stats in lopsided wins)
5. Quality of schedule, quality of program does help a player.
6. I could go on and on, but most importantly LET'S TALK ABOUT THE PLAYERS WHO MADE THE TEAM. It is a great honor, and we water it down year, after year, after year.
When I was the boys coach at Stratford, I had players make it and I had some who I thought should have and didn't....Thats life.
