It's understandable Mr. Cates, anyone who knows you knows that you are definately not a "bush" league type of guy. Emotions are to be expected in that kind of match. It should also be noted that Mr. Cates was one of the first guys to congratulate Irmo players, coaches, and fans as they exited the stadium.

FWIW, the following was taken directly from the South Carolina High School League website:

The announcer is a key person and carries a great deal of responsibility. What is said and how it is said may have serious effects on crowd behavior.
The game should be reported without showing favoritism to teams or players.
Proper language should be used at all times.
Announcers can show enthusiasm without losing control.
Plays, first downs, time outs, or touchdowns should not be anticipated.
Only those in charge of the event should be permitted to use the microphone.
Under no circumstances should officials' decisions be criticized directly or indirectly.

RCates You must be in idiot being up there and using the PA system irresponsibly. I hope SCHL kicks your behind if Dutch Fork AD doesnt. For an idiot like you, who claims once was a referee, why dont you re-certify and show your skills to everybody how to officiate a competitive rivalry match? What level did you ref before? U8 Boys or Girls? It is a shame that guys like you, who had been in a referees shoes before make comments about officials who are working hard to get these games done. Shame on you! Maybe it is good that you dont officiate anymore.

If the player needs to leave after a caution, first of all, cautioned player himself should know better to leave for substitution. Both team coaches, bench players and of course all the officials on the field, they all know the rules and they would catch this before the re-start. As you said, players were already yelling at him to leave anyways. Why didnt you wait? You made yourself stupid?

soccersupper. This is my last post on this subject. I think it is very cowardly for you to get on here with an alias and call me an idiot. I had already apologized for posing the question on the intercom "doesn't the player have to leave the field". I did not criticize the referee or the calls on the intercom. Maybe, you are a child or a young man on this name, but grow up a little and don't hide behind a mask.

I will be more than willing to step down if the SCHSL league and/or DF administration would like me to.

End of my responses to your posts.
