Recap: Dreher started out firing but missed their first two attempts. Ben Lippen notched a goal on their first attempt off a nice ball across the face of the goal, and the mid finished (Rushe had no chance on that one). The first goal for Dreher came off a miscomunication and an own goal. Dreher's Carl Anderson then had an excellent finish off a perfectly timed through ball, not much you can do about it, but I did appreciate the great soccer displayed in that goal in the final minutes of the half. In the second half, Dreher's 3rd goal came off of a miscomunication due to an injury. BL kicked the ball out and Dreher went to throw it back to us, but it was thrown to the near player instead of going back to our defense. That player mistouched it back to Robinson who did the sportsman like thing and played it back to our keeper. However, the forward for Dreher didn't understand what was happening and ran onto the ball and was fouled, resulting in a free kick just outside the box which they scored on. Ben Lippen, down 3-1 put their hearts in the final 20 minutes of the match, but Dreher had a counter in the final minute of the match, and scored off a 3 on 1. Tough to swallow, but Ben Lippen should bounce back with their region game against Hammond. Good luck to Dreher in challenging for their 3a region title, and possibly a trip to the state championship. With 6 QUALITY saves, George Rushe is my player of the game, and really kept Ben Lippen out of the net despite their ferocious attacking both during the first, but mainly during the second half.
