If you have been following the coaching changes in the upstate and more particularly, the rumors associated with them, then you would know that Finotti was rumored to be going to Riverside long before this opening occurred.

OK I have to know! How good are the resources that say Finotti was going to Riverside

I have been reading. I never read anything were Finotti said he was going. I wrote a week or so ago that I have heard Finotti gave up the greenville job to spend more time with his family. He is coaching 3 CESA teams, one of which plays state cup in the spring. Having coached both club and high school, I have never understood why anyone would want to coach high school, particularly if you are not a teacher.

By the way, my brother has coached club and high school as well and will be teaching at Riverside next year.

FYI~ Finotti is a teacher.

Also best of luck to Coach Dender, I'm sure it wasn't easy to walk away from all the returning talent.

It's real hard for us to remember that there's more to life than soccer (although we won't admit it) but fortunatly for him there's plenty of life left for soccer later.

The big issue is the same as it always is - no teacher opening in PE or really anywhere else for a coach to land. So they will be looking for a journyman mercenary or someone who is teaching elsewhere in the district unless something changes.

Last time I looked coaching positions weren't limited to P.E. teachers. Thank goodness! We welcome Coach Finotti to Greer with open arms!
