I recognize that you asked the players this question, but as a parent, I am very disappointed in the cancellation. I think that any daughter who earns the honor probably has parents who have invested a lot of time (and money) in their child and are willing to do more. If funding is a problem, approach Bob Inglis. His daughter plays soccer. In the Upstate, there are parents at Eastside, Riverside, and Mauldin who would be willing to donate.
Soccer is supposed to be on the upswing and yet this seems to indicate otherwise. Why are the counties, towns, and clubs investing in more fields? Where are the corporate (Adidas, Michelin, BMW, Fluor, Milliken, Bowater) sponsors? Wouldn't Furman (Clemson, USC Upstate) be willing to showcase South Carolina talent, invite coaches to their facility?
