Ok of course its not an "upset" that Bishop England advances to lower state, but it is worth note that the girls from Barnwell held B-E for 60 minutes 0-0 before the Bishops scored. The final score was 2-0 and while that may not seem like a big deal, we've never had such a great outcome against B-E in my four years of playing (with scores in the double digits a few times). I just wanted to say how proud I am of this year's team , and with all the juniors and sophomores coming back, I have high hopes for next year's team as well! Way to go ladies! I am SO proud of the winning season we had, especially all the hard fought, well deserved victories that we claimed along the way. Congrats on this season, I had lots of fun! I'll definitely miss playing, laughing, crying, and being crazy with ya'll......thanks for all the memories!

Did Number 12 receive a red or yellow card during the match Boz or awd?

#12 did not receive a card during the match. She is a very physical player who took her share of "physical play" as well as gave it out. Congratulations to BC on their win and good luck to them throughout the playoffs.

If you want to talk about who has class and who doesn't let's start with you and BOZ singling out a player on this message board and saying things that you obviously know nothing about, or the BC parent who went to the trouble of having towels printed with the Airport logo and the words "Official Airport Crying Towel" to throw out at the Airport parents. And then there was the BC parents heckling the Airport players from the stands. Hmmm...wonder where the BC players learn their manners, because they also were taunting the Airport players on the field, cussing at them and taking cheap shots. As far as #12 playing aggressively, let's see you or one of your players have to go up against a team of equally aggressive players who admittedly target you above anyone else on the team. The last time Airport and BC met, #12 had cheap shot after cheap shot taken against her. She was shoved from behind when the ball was not even around, knocked down numerous times, cussed at, kicked, cleated, all the while, remianing cool. It would only be natural for her to come out this time on the defensive. It is funny, how if #12 was playing so unfairly that she never receive a card. It is also funny how she was approached by some BC players AND parents after the game wanting her to play club ball with them this fall.
AWD, is this a case of sour grapes? Maybe you are the one who can't handle your daughter being showed up and out-played on the field and your daughter is the one who is NOT the player You want her to be. And how do you know what #12's intent was? You obviously do not know her or you would know that she has a big heart, loves the game and would never intentionally harm anyone.
Look at your own players and parents before throwing stones!!

Violence? What game were you watching? Soccer is a contact sport and the only thing I saw #12 do was run into some players while playing the ball. This is legal and happens all the time. Let me remind you that there were no cards!!!
If either of you parents or your daughts can't handle an aggressive game, then maybe you should encouragae them to take up something like....tennis?

Just a reminder:
In the last 3 meetings between Airport and BC this year, Airport had 20 fouls to BC's 36!! Almost double! STOP WHINING!!!

I didn't see the BC/Airport game, but I know the intensity those games bring. It seems to me that maybe, just maybe, everyone has their own interpretation of the situation. Fact is, BC has a good team this year, agressive, physical and determined it would seem. I can tell you this...Airport will have such a team in the very near future. Having been a high school coach with teams at both ends of the spectrum, I can say it isn't very fun to be on the receiving end of the kind of game you are use to delivering to the opponent. It always comes back around and in this case I believe it eventually will. It must be hard as a parent to see a players name (or number) listed on this message board in a way that isn't flattering. But one of the reasons that I am a "former" coach has a lot to do with what I am seeing written on this board. I can't imagine how I would react if it were my child's name (or number), but seeing the constant back and forth that I am seeing makes me think that I made the right decision about coaching. It isn't about the game, the players or recreation anymore....it's about the egos of parents. While I do support BC, this isn't intended as a slap in the face of Airport's parents, because I certainly do not support the actions of ANY parent that overshadows the sport. Again, that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.

Didn't see the game, but there's a ref at every one who is looking for fouls when the rules are broken and cards when play is dangerous or the fouls extreme. Well placed fouls are part of the game. No card means #12 probably just played really hard with lots of contact. I'm with luv2watch here. And being so specifically critical of one player who didn't even get one yellow is in bad taste, guys. Suck it up and stop whining.
