So who has a problem w/ the girls that were choosen for All-Region Team. My opinion is that if you were deserving of the award not "trophy" as some people are calling it, then you got it. Yes, I do believe that Megan Wetzel is an awesome soccer player, and that she could have gotten all region team... but she didnt and other people from her team did. People who also deserved to win that award. Also, from a very reliable source, the South Aiken coach arrived to the meeting and hour and half late. And she was aware of the time of the Region meeting. And no one is to say that if she was there that the list of people that won the awards would be different. In my opinion the only thing that should change is the player of the year.. I think that it should have been only one of the two winners.

Obviously you shouldn't comment soccerplyr86. You must have never seen them play or you must be one of those players.

This subject is getting old. Certain people maybe made some mistakes. But.... it still isn't going to change this year's outcome.All still remains quiet on the coaches' front... In my opinion{I'm sure no one really cares} statistics still seem to conclude that more SA players should have been on the region team.

Who are u to try and tell me that i shouldnt comment? I have all the right to comment. In my opinion Erica Deahl did not earn the title of Co-Player of the year. And for ur information, i am not either one of those players. And believe me i have seen them both play. I am not sayin that Deahl isnt a good player. I believe that she is an excellent athlete in both basketball and soccer. Two sports that i again say that i have seen her play. And i know that nothing can be done about this years selection. I was simple stating my opinion on the whole situation.

Chico: Very true. The only coaches in R4 that attempted to nominate SA players were from Aiken and North Augusta. It is rumored that Johnson stated that all of the S. Aiken girls deserve this honor over his. If so, why was no initiative taken to have these girls receive such a high honor?

soccerplyr86: the fact of the matter is that white knoll didn't even make it to play offs. south aiken was co-champs... don't some of their girls apparently stand out compared to the four from that team were chosen for all-region? no matter what the argument, the whole scenario with the coaches is very suspicious. if south aiken's coach failed her duty, then i am sorry for the girls that have to suffer for her irresponsible actions. but the other coaches unfairly took that advantage and maintained and aura of conceit in doing so.

She totally deserved what she got! Obviously you are from NA.How many games did you win? What was the score in the Orangeburg games?Did you win in overtime? If you are speaking of the other co region winner, I don't believe I or anyone else said anything. I know her and she has been outstanding in the past. During this high school year, I really don't know. I was speaking of SA.
So please do not tell me what I infer! I do believe I know who you are now. Maybe EJ?

I do not believe this is a dead horse. There is obviously a problem since the topic comes up every year on the girls and boys side of the board and we are just a small population of fans. It will become a dead horse once the coaches put together a alternative way to selecting the players for a region team.

R1C... So in other words... if a team's coach attends this meeting and that team is in last place ... let's just say with 0 or maybe one win ... they might place several players also on that team? OK! R1C I do believe you maybe a little too close to certain people to actually view this a little differently. Are you A personal friend of a certain or several of these coaches? I myself do not like the way people are attacking them { identifying them by name} or using personal things against them. You seem to know alot about a certain incident that occurred with a certain player or players. This subject will never go away unless something is changed or certain people step forth to clear the air. I do believe that all of the region coaches really do have the best in mind for their players. Please leave AH's coach alone. He seems to be taking the brunt of all this.NA? LEX? WK? Come on SA.. how about you?
