PartialtoKeeper: I read what sbs was saying as Dreher would be foolish to look beyond Socastee -- that their focus should be only on Socastee. In the preceeding posts, I didn't see an insult either.
Rather than reading this as an insult, I thought sbs was offering praise to Socastee in the sense that Dreher would be foolish to look past them at other opponents.
P.S. I have not a clue as to who Socastee's keeper is, but you certainly have put her in a tough position with your very specific prediction!

Partialtokeeper, I didn't find sbs rude at all. It is a public forum in which opinions are stated. I should have my feelings hurt by the above post, for instance, but you cannot. If you take the praise from the media, fans, parents, and fellow players, then you have to take the criticism as well. My advice is to take the good and the bad with a grain of salt.
Nothing like a worn out cliche to make you feel better, right?

My feelings are not hurt and I do not mind opinions as long as they are informed opinions. This would be like me saying that Airport beating BC is an aberration. I have never seen BC play, therefore I have no basis to form a well thought out opinion. I do agree btw that sbs was praising Socastee and apologize for not acknowledging that as you should always offer praise with criticism. I am not associated with Socstee in any way either. I have seen the keeper play and know her capabilities. But I have also watched St. James and felt the aberration comment was a bit of a slap to that team.

Is that the same St. James team that Airport beat 7-0? Since Dreher beat Airport twice in the regular season, I think all that sbs was trying to say is that Socastee wasn't 7 points worse than Dreher.
But hey...you're making me care more about 3A! Go Dreher and BC and Chapin and Airport!

"....that Dreher was that Socastee wasn't..."
I'm confused.

Whiskey & Easy: I realize that you're under a tremendous amount of pressure, both with the high school playoffs and the PLC, however, that's no reason to exhibit signs of dementia. I clearly said no such thing -- read my post again. Oh...and I did not change it after your post...I wouldn't even know how to change it after your post...and if you accuse me of this my attorneys (yes, a dog can have attorneys) will use you as a hydrant.
Yours truly, Chico

Partialtokeeper, I, in no way, intended to insult anyone. My point was meant to be that the Dreher/Socastee match would be an interesting and competitive first round match, especially in that Socastee has handled most of their opponents convincingly, while Dreher most certainly has not. It seemed that the St. James 1-0 loss might have been aberrant, because it didn't seem to be in keeping with Socastee's other results. I apologize to any St. James players or fans that might have taken this as an insult. Chico read me exactly as I had meant to have been read. I was intending simply to point out Socastee's exemplary results, which leads me to believe that Dreher will have their hands full and will have to play very well to win.

Chico, you're right, Socastee is not 7 points worse than Dreher. This is going to be a great game as far as I can see. I was not defending Socastee or saying they were unbeatable. I was pointing out the loss to St James was no aberration. Yes it is the same St. James that lost 7-0 to Airport. Although, with the exceptions of Georgetown and Myrtle Beach, the rest of the region scores were very close for the 2-5 ranked teams. The region is a very young one and pretty even. Like I said though, a team could do well with a keeper advantage. She may give up more than one rebound, but not many. ;)Sbs, I see what you were saying and apologize.

PartialtoKeeper:
If the keeper is the same as Socastee had last year, the keeper is certianly very, very good. Last year in the playoffs BC struggled mightly after initially going down one goal. It took a very good game from BC to overcome the deficit and pull out the win. If it is the same keeper she will be a year stronger and a year wiser. While I predict a Dreher win, it will not be easy.
