Today's match features the North team in the red-white-red kit, while the South squad is decked out in the all white strip.

Kickoff is underway and in the third minute the North team has garnered two corner kicks. The game time temperature is 80 degrees and this fine facility has a very well attended sun-splashed crowd on hand.

Ball girls for today's match are provided by the Carolina Elite Soccer Academy: Meghan Carrigan; Stephanie Devita; Chelsea Drennan; Sarah Tuggle; Mollie Waters; Katherine Whisehunt; and Kasey Wyer.

The uniforms have been provided by Soccersport Inc., and the CESA North-South Soccer Classic would like to thank Outback Steakhouse and Best Western hotel on Pelham Road for the accommodations.

Special thanks also goes out to Furman University Assistant Director of Athletic Marketing and Game Operations, Bryan Zeiger. He's been a tremendous help to the S.C. High School Soccer Coaches Association staff, who has been leaned on heavily this year during the transition from the lower state to the upstate!

12:15' - North has three corner kicks, but there have been no shots on goal thus far.

21:23 -- Robin Putnam of Riverside HS takes a pass from J.L. Mann's Blakely Mattern and fires a shot from the 12 yard spot. But, the shot is batted down by South goalkeeper Loring Ward of Academic Magnet. However, Putnam, continues running her lane and slots the rebounded shot into the left side of the goal to give the North a 1-0 advantage.

The South leads the North 5-4 in the North-South Soccer Classic series.

Water break has been taken at the 22:30 mark and we are resuming play of this match. Two 45-minute halves with no overtime will be played this afternoon.

The officials for the girls match are: (R) Dan Dickerson; (AR) John Lupisella; and (AR) Warren Woody.

Most of the boys players are sitting atop the hill in front of the Poteat Hall dorm rooms. Where shade is available, people are flocking to those spots.

As for the match itself, 32:30 has been played with the North Still clinging to a 1-0 lead. Halftime stats will be provided shortly.

41:02' - The North squad is on the board again as Dorman's Carmen Osorio sends a corner kick into the six yard box and Fort Mill's Danielle Schmitt knocks the ball into the net for a 2-0 lead.

41:53' - Erika Bishop of Emerald takes a one-on-one challenge and shrugs off the defender and then plays it around the goalkeeper for a 3-0 lead.

44:21' - Schmitt nets a brace and seemingly gives the North an insurmountable 4-0 lead when she lobs a pass from Mattern into an empty net.
