Congrats to the ODP '91 Boys for winning the GSA Super Cup today. This was the U14 Division 1 bracket. The final score was 2-1 over a very good club from Tucker GA.

Well done boys!! I would like to say congrats to all the teams that participated in the tournament in Atlanta and also the College Showcase in Greenville this weekend. There was some good soccer being played this weekend by our boys and girls.

How did that work? Did they register as a SCySA ODP team or did that create a US Club team and do it that way?

They registered as two SCYSA ODP teams (A & B), the A team won their bracket - ODP is a function of SCYSA/USYSA and could never be affiliated with US Club. Both teams did well, congratulations on a fine showing.

FYI - US Club does have their own "ODP" - it is called "id2".

So a "state" team won the tourney.....so basically it took 18 of SC's "best" players to win the ATL tourney? I know CESA , St giles CSC, et have have good showings before .....I just wanted to throw out that a point was made by this post!

The boys are getting ready for Region Camp and have only had one opportunity (back in January) to play together as a team. Even then, the players were moved between two teams. So the point you were trying to make isn't really relevant in this case. You really can't compare a club team who has had seasons of league games and tournaments to a team that has trained (if they're lucky) once/month since December and have played no more than 3 matches together before this tournament.

NO NO NO my point is that it took a "state" team to win/compete at this level. The "best 18 in SC. I am not knocking the boys here. Well Done. Has been said many times that ATL is as populated as SC!!! Thats all. Nothing about training......just helped out the point being made.

One other footnote here. If the 91's played a club team, most likey the club team had a number of 90's due to the different cutoff ages in club vs ODP.Depending on the way the numbers fell they may have been playing "up".

Correct BDad - ODP works on the calendar year - so the teams have a mixture of U14's and U13's.

Both teams did a terrific job, the 2nd team lost two games by only one goal and tied the other.

Well done boys!
