2004,
Super Y league is becoming more like a Super YMCA league where anyone can play (see nino's post on scrambling for players) and everyone is made to feel good about themselves as players. No, everyone can not play on the odp team as there are "cuts" and roster limits. N, everyone will not make the region team, nor will they get selected to play in the pool games. You have to be a player. But, the players who are selected are trained properly, participate in organized events, and are evaluated by region coaches, who happen to be some of the best coaches around - alot of them are our top collegiate coaches. Who is evaluating the super y players - justin rhodes, bruce talbot, etc.? What is super y affiliated with? odp is the direct path to the national programs. that alone should shed light on its significance and differentiate it from the summer y league.
