Dear Families and Friends of CSC and NECSA:
It is with incredible excitement that we inform you that the respective Boards of our two full service Columbia-area youth soccer clubs feel it is in the best interest of youth soccer in the Midlands to begin serious exploratory discussions concerning a potential merger. While still in their infancy, discussions have begun and it is anticipated that our path to a potential merger will be finalized by the first of the New Year. The focus of our discussions will be to organize a resulting club one that will provide excellent soccer opportunities for all children at all levels limited solely by the individual players desires, abilities and potential. Emphasis will be on creating opportunity for all families living throughout our wonderful community and thereafter improving each familys Recreational, Academy and Select soccer experience.
Undoubtedly, questions will abound following receipt of this correspondence which cannot be answered at this time. We trust that you understand that such an exploration involves due diligence and tedious planning and thus your patience and your support is greatly appreciated! To that end, please realize that the Fall 2005 youth soccer season and the Spring 2006 youth soccer season will continue as planned on an individual basis at NECSA and at CSC and if you have not already done so, please be sure to register now on line for your respective clubs spring season. Registration information can be found at
www.necsa.com and
www.columbiasoccerclub.org. Finally, and most importantly, we are proud to announce that two of the most influential leaders of youth soccer development in the Mid State are committed to the potential merger and what it can bring to the Greater Midlands soccer community. Assisting us in evaluating this incredible opportunity for youth soccer in the Greater Columbia area will be Tripp Miller, NECSAs current Director of Coaching with 17 years experience and holder of 10 SCYSA State Club team Championships in 14 State Final matches and Phil Savitz, South Carolina High Schools most successful soccer coach who has amassed an incredible record of 430 wins, 43 losses and 5 ties over his 24 year coaching career at Irmo H.S. with 14 State Championships in 20 State Final appearances. These two leaders of soccer in our community bring to our discussions exactly what is needed and deserved by you established, proven success in developing our areas premier youth soccer players for all the right reasons passion and love for the game and unquestioned loyalty and commitment to serving your children and our Columbia community.
For your continued confidence and support in our respective clubs, we thank you.
Sincerely,
Lynn Holmes, Ron Tryon
