As far as cesa beating the csc u16s easily, I would dissagree. The csc team was in almost every game of the season. They seemed to play to the lvl of their opponent and just never came out on top. Cesa would have won no doubt, but it would have been just as tough.

CESA U16 boys scrimmaged CSC in the heat of the summer and it was a very good match. CSC has a good team and if the CSC/NECSA merger takes place they will have a very talented team!!!!

CSC U16B, as the #8 seed, defeated CESA, the #1 seed, two years ago in the 1st round when they were U14's.

Very true, LS. But Giles had won state title at U11, U12, and U13 before that loss. I suspect a good number of those kids are on the Premier team.

You're right on the appeal, but I really can't see how CESA Premier would be on the easier side. CESA Challenge won the Challenge League and beat Bridge twice. Add to this that a CESA Premier - CESA Challenge game is a very intense rivalry and I think that CESA Premier has the tougher of the two opponents.

Irmo: With regards to the U14 team a couple of years ago, I believe that only about 5 or 6 of those players are still on the CESA Premier team. Many of those players are now on the CESA Challenge team.

Summerville was the number 1 seed that year. Giles was two.

JG.... CESA P played Coastal, CESA C played CFC.

NECSA played CSC and Lex played Bridge.

CSC did not have a good year on the columns but has the players and skill. The assumption that CESA P would have had the same easy win as they did against Coastal is not true. CESA C had the CFC's number all season long, but would not have faired the same if they would have come in second in regular season.

I watched one CESA C game against Bridge, was not an easy win and I assume that by the score the same was true the other game.

Check hotstat and see the schedules.

This age group happens to have a large number of very even high level teams.

I guess I need to clarify my statment a little. I was looking at more at the upcoming game than including the first round. Bridge is a very good team, but I believe that CESA C will be a much harder game for CESA P than Bridge would be. Even without the inter club rivalry, CESA C is a very good team, with their only loss coming very early in the season.

With regards to CSC, I know that there is a lot of talent on that team and I am surprised that they had the record that they did.

All in all, I agree with your statement about this age group. There are several high level teams and any of the teams in the final four can make it to the finals. It should be a good state cup.
