You did come across as anti-Bridge (to me, at least). Every post of yours regarding the Bridge prior to the last couple were almost completely negative towards the Alliance.
From the beginning, Mt. Pleasant made it very clear that they were not interested in joining The Bridge FA, but the entire note regarding the matter that was posted on the club’s website appeared to be all talk and no real substance. They kept saying that they were FOR this and FOR that, but never gave a good reason why they did not want to join.
Yes, I believe that MPSC is city-run...but where there is a will, there is a way. Not saying it would be easy, but if Mt. Pleasant wants to join the Alliance, I’m sure someone can figure out how to do it.
I personally never read any of the reasons why CUSC did not join – but, as they appear to be “sucking wind” at the moment, it seems that joining could have only helped them.
I’m not sure what you mean by “I believe that the Bridge would of had more alliances if everyone was brought in,” unless your intent is just to state the obvious. I believe that ALL clubs in the Charleston area were invited to join the Alliance.
I stand by my statement about Classic and Challenge players. In GENERAL, I believe that the Challenge players are more passionate about the game. Look at what these players do in their off time. I imagine if you took a poll, you would find many more Challenge players than Classic who spend a lot of time watching professional matches and going outside on their own to work on their skills….again, in general. Sure, the parents are just as passionate about their children playing the sport of their choice, but, again, in general, I believe the parents of the Challenge players will take more time to learn more about the game and future prospects.
I don’t know why SSC waits so long after Bridge tryouts to hold their own. But, when you think about the process...kids tryout, certain players are offered a position on the team, and then they are given a certain amount of time to make a commitment to the team. Seems like that could easily take a week or two.
Regarding where The Bridge FA now stands within SCYSA, Darren Sweet made a few comments back on page 5 of this topic (http://www.scsoccer.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=5;t=000711;p=5). As he stated, “Bridge FA is an organizational member of the SCYSA. The club structure and by laws were approved last year at the proper filing period.”
I’m not sure how SCYSA could approve a club and then turn right around several months later and say, “Uh, we thinks we mighta made a little boo boo….remember when we said you were approved? Well, pretend like that never happened.”
SCYSA would look pretty bad if they come back now and say they made a mistake by approving The Bridge FA.
