SCSYA regulates SCYSA Clubs. Charlotte falls outside of SCYSA jurisdiction. CESA-Columbia falls within SCYSA jurisdiction. Boy, are you lissenen to me? 'Cause what part of that don't you understand?
Now, if them folks at SCYSA think its a problem they probably need to talk to their daddies at USYSA, 'cause i reckon inter-state relations falls under their bailwick.
Now, technically, a person if they were so inclined could look at the two situations and see similar issues. But remember....Northside went to Charlotte, not vice versa. Not the case in Columbia....where CESA was seen as a risk and a threat. Right or not, fair or not.
The York county Clubs know that Charlotte isn't a threat, except for the reruiting of top level players. Many of the best players go to Charlotte and then return for whatever reason. They cease to be dominant players, maybe they hit U15 and want to play HS ball. But eventually the players return. If they are stilll top notch they go to CESA or Columbia. In some cases they stay home and play for Discoveries or Tega Cay.
The 2 difference between the 2 situations is that 1 was unwanted and one was wanted, and one was intra-state and one was inter-state.
