Lowerstate4A,
Hurst already nailed this one. Northside name remains intact and if the kids are willing, they will field older teams in the Fall to play in SC. Younger teams moved en masse to CSC where they are distinct teams. But make no mistake, there is no partnership. They are registered CSC teams wearing CSC colors.
To the best of my knowledge.....no 50% rule in NC. Otherwise this would have been impossible to do.

It sure smacks of a partnership to me. If you admit that the fields "may" be used for tournaments by CSC how in the hell is that not a partnership. I know one thing if that does happen and I were a Discoveries parent I know I would have a problem. Not only are they losing players to CSC but their tax monies are being used by NC players and a NC club.
BD,I really don't care how business in Rock Hill is run, but I am trying to find some consistancy in what the SCYSA is doing. How they dismiss precedance is absolutley amazing to me and it seems to be all over the place. I guess what I'm really driving at is I sniff an agenda here.

I am also trying to understand this as well. At this point, I'm left with the following possibilities (a) the SCYSA has attempted to craft a rule targeting CESA but has inadvertantly ensnared at least Bridge and possibly other clubs or (b) the SCYSA constitute a bunch of hapless idiots. I don't believe (b) to be valid.

This may be the single greatest understatement I have ever heard. It's like saying "Something smells slightly peculiar -- did a skunk just spray up my nose?"

Okay...going back to basics on this.
From Miriam-Webster:
partnership: (1) The state of being a partner.
partner: (1) one that shares, (2) one associated with another especially in an action, (3) a member of a partnership.
Now let's go back to the SCYSA decision regarding partnerships:
*SCYSA does not recognize the “partnership” between any SCYSA clubs. Each and every SCYSA club is an organization member of SCYSA and responsible for its own individual members and their own actions, as noted in SCYSA Bylaws 211, 212 and 231.
*All SCYSA clubs, including CESA, will immediately cease the advertising or promoting of a “partnership” with any other SCYSA clubs.
It appears from reading this that Northside may partner with CSC or any other North Carolina club because the decision only refers to SCYSA clubs not being permitted to partner with other SCYSA clubs.
But as far as "registered CSC teams wearing registered CSC colors", I think there continues to be a misunderstanding here. If you look at the process by which teams are rostered, there is no way a team from one club may be rostered with another club and there is no way a team can be rostered with two clubs. Furthermore, there was never any expressed intent to do this as per the CESA/CRSA partnership announcement. And I can tell you as someone who has asked about what was going on with this announcement that there was no implied intent to do this either. This is a case where the SCYSA rules are quite clear as per their actual rostering process.
You can't say that a registered team wearing a club color means that clubs aren't involved in a partnership -- if so, no club has ever expressed a desire to be in a partnership. Instead, you have to go back to the definitions and find out what a partnership is (synonyms: alliance, cooperative venture, etc.) -- which is working together in any manner -- to understand what the SCYSA appears to have outlawed.
And I say "appears to have outlawed" because of the totality of the two decisions. The second partnership decision, as folks have noted, only disallows the advertising or promoting of a partnership and not a partnership itself. But I believe that the first partnership decision was intended to outlaw partnerships, even though what it really does is simply state that the SCYSA does not recognize partnerships. However, the SCYSA made most of this decision out of whole cloth, i.e., they didn't use their bylaws to create this decision, instead, they created a decision based on what the bylaws don't say. Thus, it would be in line with their thinking that the SCYSA not recognizing something means that it can't exist.
By the way...based on this...since the SCYSA bylaws don't say anything about message boards...I believe that this message board doesn't exist and (poof!)...

I have asked if anyone has an account of how the board voted. As elected officials isn't it required to make public how representatives vote . I think we could learn many things with this information and also lock this away for future elections.
Why isn't this known?

Nastra and Chico, there are conspiracies and agendas only if you are determined to find them.
I already said....CSC runs their tournaments thru NCYSA so it is impossible to use Manchester in that regard.
Anyway, Rock Hill is putting that facility in there to run tournaments and attract out of town folks to spend money at RH hotels, restaurants, malls. I agree....Discoveries should have first dibs on it. But if they aren't using it and someone else can use it for the purposes that it was intended, is that wrong? If I run that complex...if CESA wants to use it and fill it up and no one else has it booked....I would welcome them with open arms. I only make money if Dave Lyle Blvd is clogged up with SUV's and mini-vans with out of state/out of town license plates.
If you were a taxpayer of RH and they WEREN'T using it when they could have....then you would have a right to be upset.

I don't fully understand; the term "only" threw me. You're saying that agendas don't exist but are created only if you're determined to find them? Uh...I think people can have agendas regardless, can't they? I sure hope the SCYSA has an agenda -- one in line with their mission of developing and promoting youth soccer. I just didn't see any hint of that in their latest decision. I think they had an agenda to protect NECSA and prevent CESA from encroaching on NECSA's turf. I think Bridge was an accidental casualty. Northside isn't one because whether they partner with CSC or not, CSC is not an SCYSA club.
Okay...moving on. Since CSC is also affiliated with USCS they could run tournaments anywhere they like if they wanted. If the complex is unused a particular weekend, or more importantly if CSC is willing to pay the municipality to use it, then I'm all for it. I don't live up in your neck of the woods, but I'm tired of everyone's property tax going through the roof -- let's run these municipal fields more efficiently!

Again guys...no special persecution of CESA. Northside-CSC is different from CESA-COLA. CSC is not setting up a satellite CLub to compete with Discoveries or Tega Cay or Columbia or whomever. There are no claims of underepresentation or helping minority kids. From their perspective....they simply absorbed whole teams.
With or without Northside...if capacity exists at Manchester they would have inquired about it.
Regarding partnerships....dang man. There is no collusion going on. The Northside Koalas are now the CSC Koalas, end of story. The girls aren't on loan. The Northside Koalas are dead and gone, unable to partner since it takes two to tango. They are CSC now. No cooperative alliances...
Not meaning to be a smart guy, but why is this so difficult to grasp? Northside will remain a Club for the sake of U15 and older boys who want to play the game. For girls and U14 and younger boys it has ceased to exist.
Although clearly....it would make sense to merge these kids in with Tega Cay and Discoveries. But if it was that easy to do, the younger kids probably wouldn't have gone to Charlotte.
