Regarding inconsistencies, let me try to clear them up.
Soccer can be played at all levels: rec, classic, challenge, premier. Rec and classic soccer are best kept local...but as kids start moving up the ladder they need to be placed in appropriate levels of competition.
In a state like SC which is sparsely populated, relatively speaking, this might mean in some areas that you need to offer a consolidated team. A partnership approach....2 or more CLubs pool their resources to allow their top players the chance to compete successfully. Now, sometimes this might mean a merger like St Giles-GFC. Sometimes it might mean more of a hybrid CLub such as Bridge. Whichever model you choose is fine, the end result is the same.
I believe in that and fully support it.
But....I think the consolidation needs to go ground floor up. Start with local Clubs either merging or partnering and then if it needs to go further thats fine.
The only issue I had with CESA was that they were moving into the Midlands before the Midlands got the chance to consolidate themselves. CSC-NECSA is a great first step.
Now, would that have happened without the threat of CESA moving into the area....yeah, you could be right. But all in all I would prefer local consolidation first, then district, then inter-district.
