Chico - I believe CSC U14 Boys are Premier, not Challenge - oh yeah, they are. We play Conocorde and Cobb this weekend.

Guess you were looking at the Fall season.

irmo4now: Yes...the table refers to Fall, 2005 (a hint is probably how many teams showed up! [Smile] ) I should have more clearly labeled the several month old chart I used...I'll do so now...thanks.

Good luck against Concorde and Cobb. Who's coaching you guys now and how are things going?

irmo4now: I looked it up and understand the lack of response...good luck the rest of the season.

Breezin/futbol(soccer): Any hints on whether LCSC is going to attempt to become more broadly competitive and field a broader array of "challenge/premier" teams?

Chico... I believe that all clubs try to field the most competititve teams they can. There is however a direct correlation between the players available and the best fit in the leagues. I for one always hope that teams will play at the toughest levels, others may feel different.

Without knowing the future, I think that the younger age groups have shown promise and they may be building for the future.

It would be best to talk to DOC or the president instead.

US Club Soccer is not only for the highest caliber teams. Yes, the National Cup is mostly for high quality teams but there are several other benefits for "membership" to USCS. There is no cost for tournament sanctioning (imagine the savings), no travel papers required for out of state play, and a club roster to move players between teams freely, to name a few.
Imagine being able to drive an hour down the road (from LCSC) to Augusta to play games and not having to jump through hoops to make it happen. Or for a team in Rock Hill to play in Charlotte, Myrtle Beach to play in Wilmington, Hilton Head to play in Savannah.
There is more to USCS than a National Cup. This is a smart move by LCSC.
