Looking at the standings on HotStat, this is shaping up to be a very competitive spring season. NECSA, Orange Crush, CSC Burn, CESA Challenge all look competitive. How is the season going?

How are Mt Pleasant and CESA Premier doing in region premier? Who will be the favorite to win state cup?

I think you are correct..this particular age group is going to be wide open. It's pretty obvious when I watched the games last weekend that the girls are getting pretty beat up from playing both school and club, Nothing would surprise me at this age group.

I think Mt. Pleasant is having a numbers problem but they have some outstanding players and a great coach. I think overall CESA(preimer) is going to be the team to beat at state cup this year. Beyond that it is wide open Mt. Pleasant, CSC, NECSA, CESA(challenge), Orange crush all have a very ligitemate shot at it.
I was absolutely amazed how much the CESA (challenge) team has improved from fall to spring. I don't know if they have picked up some new players or if the girls are starting to "come into their own". Either way, there is a real chance that CESA could go 1 & 2 at the U-14 age group.

What happened to the Koalas? Hurst, did they go to NC?

Thanks for the update. I miss the league now that we are up in Charlotte.

That surprises me that CESA could go 1 & 2. Northside (Charlotte Soccer Club now) Koalas beat CESA Challenge in the Savannah tourney final back in January. They must have really improved (I know they did well in Atlanta a couple weeks back) because I would think Mt. Pleasant, NECSA and Orange Crush would all be stronger than them.

We moved to NCYSA and are playing in 2nd division classic. As a "new" team we had to start out in the bottom. We are doing well at 7-0-0. Big game this Saturday as we play the other 7-0-0 team. If we win, we get promoted to first division. If we lose, we have to stay down for another season.

I'd say Orange Crush looks the best of the ones
playing in state this season . They have some great foot work and passing skills.

MPSC and Premier are still going to be the ones to beat at State Cup.

Charlotte Soccer Club (formerly Northside) Koalas lost 2-1 to Greater Cleveland County on Saturday. Very disappointing that the Koalas will have to remain in 2nd division classic for another season, despite their 7-1-0 record this past spring.

I see the Orange Crush is participating in the Julian Brown Tournament in Charlotte this weekend. Their Saturday games are against North Meck and Charlotte United FC Gold. CUFC Gold won the classic first division this past spring and they have been promoted to Premier Division for next fall. They have three South Carolina '92 ODP players on their roster.

I know that CESA Premier won the state cup. Does anyone have any recaps or observations on the two semi-finals and the final?

SEMI FINAL Game
The Premier U-14 Girls team outshot the Orange Crush in the first half but were up only 1-0.

The Orange Crush came back to tie early in the second half 1-1. Premier then went on to score 2 more goals. The 3rd was off a header off a great corner kick right on the backside of the goal.

The Orange Crush came back and scored another goal with about 5 minutes left.
The final seconds of the game the ball went right across the Premier's goal and almost was put in by another Orange Crush player.

That was the only game I saw.
