What is going on with Discoveries Soccer Club in Rock Hill. I hear where the DOC resigned, and they fired a coach the other night. Someone said they are going to combine with the Recreation league. Big mistake. It seems the people now running the Club are going to run it into the ground. They won't have many coaches back.

I think a working relationship between the two local clubs would be a better idea.

Wish the parents of Discoveries, 'old' Northside, and Tega Cay would tell their boards what they what! With the new fields in Rock Hill, the dependency on Winthrop should not be a priority. Let's provide a solid home for our players. The talent is here to compete with anyone! I hear TCSC has been trying to work with the Discoveries board but to no avail. Wake up Discoveries, you are there to represent the players and their families, not stroke your own ego and power trips!

for some reason dsc would never merge with the old northside and they will not with tega cay.
im not in the mix enough to know why.i guess they will if things fall totally apart.

I think Discoveries is making a huge mistake. There are a few parents that knew very little about soccer a few years ago and now that their kids are playing thay are experts. I give DSC less then two seasons, before the are forced to merge or someone starts another club or go under. I wonder if Pospanko at Winthrop is ****ed off about this. They never did have any dependency on Winthrop. They just rented fields, office space, etc. The Winthrop staff was never really involved with Discoveries other than giving advice when asked from what I understand. An even bigger mistake not keeping Winthrop involved. You have the most knowlegeable soccer coaches who are well conected in the soccer world right in your back yard...keep the relationship.

Let the coaches run the club and you'll have success. Parents only worry about their kids for the time that they are in the club and only their "teams". For clubs that are truly successful at developing players, check and you'll see that the coaches involved in the club essentially run the club. Where they don't, it's a disaster, because parents are only worried about their "little Johnny or Debbie".

The last time I checked, "X's and O's, beat Jimmy's and Joe's" every time!

Does Discoveries have a girls program? Three 4A schools in Rock Hill....where are the players going to come from?
