Different accounts of the U13/U14 State Challenge Cup results:
SCYSA web site shows the following scores:
  • 9618 10:00 am CESA 92 Boys Premier (1) 2:0 Tega Cay 92 Boys Gold (3)
  • 9819 12:00 pm CESA 91 Boys Premier (1) 2:1 CSC Burn 91 Boys Navy (2)
  • 9518 10:00 am CESA 92 Girls Premier (1) 2:0 Bridge FA 92 Girls Gold (2)
  • 9718 12:00 pm CESA 91 Girls Premier (1) 2:0 NECSA Strikers (3)
From a club perspective, here's the breakdown of finalists:
  • CESA: 4
  • CUFC: 2 [CSC: 1, NECSA: 1]
  • Bridge: 1
  • Tega Cay: 1
Observations: Since mergers/alliances should result in a youth soccer club that is much more successful than the smaller clubs that form the larger club, and with CSC's and NECSA's good results in terms of placing finalists, the expections for 2006-2007 on CUFC have to be incredibly high.

x: Math confirmed...I also get 23 of 28 in the most recent two-year period.

is there going to be a coaching change with the columbia u14 boys. as soon as the trophy presentation was over, the team huddled around a english guy. seemed a weird time to do that.

The CSC U-14 Boys coach will be moving to Laurinburg, NC to be on the staff at St. Andrew's. The midlands will miss him.

(I don't mean to speak for CUFC but I think this is public information).

The CUFC coach listing shows the U15B Elite coach for 2006-2007 as Rob Strickland. Sounds like he's getting the core of a very strong team.

Chico,
Do you know how High School prep will work? Of course you cannot start anything before Jan. 23. Can a club coach(as long as he/she is not the HS coach) possibly practice and prepare the team before turning it over to HS coach Jan. 23. And will the club continue to work with the players during HS season?

2004striker: Please see this link for a discussion on this on the message board from people much smarter than I. Please note that the discussion went on for several pages; "Ryan Roseberry" and "dcsoccer" understand the program much better than I do and provide links and explanations to some of the questions others were asking.

Thanks Chico. I am sure I missed that discussion cause I am usually too gender specific in my posts and readings, and fail to keep up with the girls side. Maybe I need to visit the girls side more often. It is possible that I will not get harassed and ridiculed so much there.
