Semifinal Results:
Brazil 3 : 2 Germany (Saturday)
Mexico 1 : 1 Argentina (match currently in penalty kicks)

Some players that are looking good:
Ballack (GER) arguably the most versatile attacking midfielder in Europe, Ronaldhino (BRA)creative, energetic, great skill, Adriano (BRA)two goals in the semifinal and the Man of the Match, Figueroa (ARG)-the youngster recorded a hat trick in the group stages and netted a goal against Mexico in the ongoing semifinal, Riquelme (ARG) great penalty and free kick taker--these are only players from the semi's (I haven't seen Mexico play yet).

Has anyone been watching this competition? Reading some football magazines, many critics think this competition is unnecessary and tiresome for players finishing up the club season, especially after the death of Marc Vivien Foe during the previous running.

Any predictions for the final after we find out the result of Mexico-Argentina?

Very accurate thoughts.

Hey remember all the predictions I did?

Well... Argentina vrs Brazil in the Championship, looks like this time "Europeans did not outclassed Southamericans."

Is the game of the "Titans" in futbol, I'm pulling for Argentina.

Who will win?

I think Argentina wins. They're young, they've been playing together for a while. The same group won the Youth WC, they also won the Olimpics, and they were second in the American Cup loosing to the same Brazil when Argentina was superior!

Riquelme and Aimar are the new Latino "artist" in soccer. Coloccini is solid, and Milito a Madridtype of defender. They're still missing D'Alessandro (great style).

Brazil? Ronaldinho have to show why he was FIFA player of the year, I though Mr. Lampart did a better job than Ronaldinho this past season. Well he is got the moves and the fantasy that people likes to watch. Adriano is strong but Coloccine is strong too. Baptista, Kaka and Robinho can help a lot.

Brazil is still getting use to play without the old gang; Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, and Cafu. With those three, nobody can stop Brazil.

I think Argentina wins, I want Argentina to win.

Mexico? Good run, they're improving, they're developing their own style of soccer... watch out Americans! Mexico is really young and they made or region(CONCACAF) look strong.

Germany? Have the potential to win the WC, Ballack is another Madridtype of player. Klisman(their coach) was awesome in his time. Having Klisman on the bench and Ballack on the field can be enough to win the WC.

This tournament is not important? Europeans say that when they don't win.

Here is a good quote, "Only loosers play for fun."

Well this is it, hoping Argentina to win the whole thing. Argentina is also playing Brazil in the under 20 WC semifinal. Danm! Europeans keep "outclassing" South Americans in soccer...

The Gold Cup is coming up, let see if USA can win it, the Gold Cup is the CONCACAF biggest competition. Mexico is coming with the B team so that may be an advantage for USA.

We'll see.

Some very good thoughts--I should have looked farther and seen that there was already a thread about the Confed Cup--sorry.

I haven't seen much of either team, Brazil or Argentina, but it should be a great final. Argentina are very young but are showing their form. Brazil must get used to playing without the big three but Adriano is proving himself worthy. Also Robinho and Kaka are great players both fairly young and Kaka has enjoyed in the past two years two great club seasons with Milan. He is very creative in the attacking midfield and a great passer, someone the Argentinians must look out for and not leave loose like Liverpool did in the first half of the final. By the way--whatever happened to Rivaldo for Brazil? Has he retired? The last I heard of him was that he had left Europe to play in Japan or somewhere in the Far East.

I have heard that Madrid have been looking at Robinho and that Maradona has taken a coaching or chairman position at Boca Juniors. Along with the all South American final, this is very exciting news for South American soccer.

Now that my team is out of the confederation cup im pulling for Brazil. As to me when mexico is knocked out of a competion MOST mexicans pull for brazil over any other team. As for brazil they have a better squad better keep and definitly better field players that are very young and very talented! Im hoping brazil wins with a 3 to 1 victory!

My prediction came right for brazil winning the confederation cup. And its also proving that mexico is getting better and better as the years go by. Next for mexico is the Copa Oro so hopefully i see a great game between Mexico and US.
