That's what I can't figure out about you. United have always played a ground game, an exciting brand of attacking football with the possible exception of Dave Sexton's time there when Joe Jordan was up front. Even then United played it down the flanks and kept it on the ground even though Joe was pretty good with his head. Not since Ted MacDougal in the 70's have we had a big target man. Stapleton was big and good with his head, as was Whiteside, but we still never played the long ball game.
You claim to be a United fan but think that a big target man like Crouch who is more suited to the Wimbledon game of the old days, is better than Defoe and Fowler.The sort of game that suits Crouch should be anathema to a true United fan. Imagine how hard it is for me to say good things about Fowler given that he has played for Liverpool, Leeds AND City!!!!!!!!!!!
